In writing this article my attention is to open the eyes of small business and no way patronise female mangement or give offence. In some domains this is still a sensitive and sometimes taboo topic!
As a father of 3 grown up young women I am proud to see them have the opportunities that were not available to them 25 years ago and be recognised for the talented individuals they are.
Traditionally male dominated bastions have resisted change to include women in male dominated domains. Thankfully there is a changing of the guard with society understanding that in an egalitarian world there is no place for these behaviours and conduct!
It is still true that getting through the glass ceiling is difficult however the glass is much thinner or so I have been told. Forward thinking corporates are showing the business world the way ahead.
In my time in corporate life I had the opprotunity to work with many talented female individuals.
I found them to be excellent managers and unlike their male collegues did not display the territorial behaviours so indicative of male management.
Small business ignores to their detriment overlooking female management and this is blatant discrimination in its ugliest form.
Some reasons why are women overlooked. Women are often overlooked because of ignorance, intolerance, discrimination, fear, negative thinking, insecurity, the old school tie syndrome, myths and legends and on it goes.
What women can bring to your business. Women have the ability to bring a great deal to your business; hard-work, talent, lack of territory insecurity, flexibility, and usually greater understanding and empathy.
Today’s employees are looking for kindness in the workplace. It is true that many employees have as their only support network their work colleagues. How much more important then are these skills.
It is true that some female managers become overbearing but my experience is that this less frequent than men.

Tables are currently the most common method of laying out/structuring a web page. Although the use of tables for this purpose is considered, by many, to be a misuse, it is by far the easiest way of organising web page content.
Most purists would say their use is now obsolete and you should switch to Cascading Style sheets for website /web page layout. However personally I still prefer tables for the basic outline structure in what is called a “minimal table layout”.
In the minimal table approach the outline structure is created using a table, and positioning within the table is done using cascading style sheet
elements. This is the approach I currently use, and probably will continue to use over the next few years.
Not only can you use CSS for the element layout they can also be used to control the table itself, like table width or background colour. This way, just by making a change in the external CSS control file you can change the tables for all web pages, and with it the appearance/layout of the entire website.
One of the other advantages of continuing to use tables for page layout is that the pages are still easy to edit with most web page editors, whereas if you use CSS themselves for positioning then you will need a compatible editor.
Tables have been the mainstay of web page layout for many years and will continue to be over the next few years. However when combined with Cascading style sheets they can become very flexible and powerful, as well as simple to use.

4. The fit around the middle of the shoe should feel tighter than with ordinary shoes. This is where you get the most support when swinging the club. Don’t overworry about the tightness because all shoes will stretch a little after you have worn them a few times.
5. There should be no more or less than about a half inch of space from your big toe to the end of the golf shoe.
6. It is important to make sure that the shoe and the widest part of your foot are a comfortable fit, without being too loose. Loose fitting shoes cause your feet to slide when you swing the club, and you lose stability, essential for good golf.

A New Regulation that Erin Brockovich Can Appreciate
It’s safe to say that in the U.S. that your drinking water is treated, filtered, and safe for consumption. After all, with the advancements in water treatment chemicals and the governing rules of the EPA the water you receive at home is guaranteed to be potable. Even though our water is at a clean and safe level the spread of waterborne diseases is still a threat, and the EPA continues to study and research to find more ways to protect public health by ensuring that there are fewer contaminants in our drinking water.
In January of this year, the EPA introduced a new rule to the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations, the Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule. This rule requires that water systems be monitored for levels of cryptosporidium. Its purpose is to improve the quality of drinking water and to reduce the number of illnesses caused by crypto and other disease causing microorganisms that may be present in drinking water as well as uncovered finished water reservoirs.
Cryptosporidium is often present in systems in which the E-coli results of a total coliform bacteria test exceed the specified concentration level. The results of the total coliform bacteria test are used as the primary indicator of the water’s potability.
The microscopic parasites of cryptosporidium cause the diarrheal disease cryptosporidiosis. In recent years, recreational water facilities have been implicated in several outbreaks of cryptosporidiosis. Crypto is transmitted into the water via fecal material from humans or animals. Young children are extremely susceptible to contracting cryptosporidiosis from a contaminated recreational water supply since they often swallow quantities of water while swimming. In addition, pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems are also a great risk if crypto is contracted.
The cryptosporidium parasites create a challenge when trying to keep water clean and disinfected since the parasites are resistant to many chemical disinfectants including chlorine. Filtration is currently the only conventional method of removing crypto from water supplies. Sand filtration has proven to work the best. The water is disinfected after filtration and then it is deemed consumable.
The monitoring of large water systems, those servicing at 100,000 people, for cryptosporidium will begin in October of this year according to the EPA’s LT2 Rule. Smaller systems, which service less than 10,000 people, will not be required to begin monitoring until October 2008. This monitoring is an extension of current regulations and it will increase the level of protection over drinking water supplies.
